The Greatest Rave Essentials

1.) Hydration Pack

I usually recommend a hydration backpack, or hydropack for short, as the first item at a festival. True sadness isn’t experienced until your favorite DJ is spinning and you’ve found the ideal location in the crowd, only to discover that you’re really thirsty and need to go buy an outrageously expensive water bottle. You can stay hydrated for a considerable length of time wherever you go with a hydropack since it has an integrated pouch that can contain up to two liters of water! Another benefit of having a hydropack is that you won’t ever have to pay for water because most events provide free water stations! Lunchbox and GenZ are the two bundles we suggest. In addition to keeping you hydrated, these packs provide a ton of other fantastic features, like anti-theft protection (which, regrettably, does occur occasionally) that may help safeguard your most expensive belongings.

2.) Pashmina

The festive robe of the holy grail. What, indeed, is a pashmina incapable of? In addition to being a fantastic accessory, pashminas provide other advantages. Protection from inclement weather is among the biggest benefits a pashmina can provide. It may be used as a cover to shield your skin from the sun’s rays, a blanket in the bitter cold, or even a temporary umbrella in the event of rain. At a festival, they can also serve as a safety net in case you experience any form of overstimulation. Applying a few drops of lavender essential oil to the tips of your pashmina is a fantastic trick I discovered for this, which will help it have a relaxing effect while worn!

3.) Raveraide

Even though it might not seem like it, attending a music festival puts a lot of strain on your body and mind. Partying too hard can result in unpleasant hangovers and brain fog, and dancing all night can leave your body exhausted and painful. A great hydration stick supplement for post-rave recuperation is Raveraide. Every packet contains incredible nutrients that are meant to cure every part of you, such as amino acids to aid in muscle recovery, electrolytes to replenish lost fluids, and nootropics to enhance your mood and mental well-being. Attending the festival every day can assist your body get through the day and lower your chance of being ill or exhausted.

4.) A fan

If the weather forecast for the weekend calls for bright skies, sunshine, and temperatures above 85 degrees, get ready to fight heat, the biggest enemy of all ravers.

In real seriousness, daytime events may get very hot, which raises the possibility of overheating and dehydration. A hand fan is a really useful tool for staying cool! Even though they appear little and fragile, the air stream they create is unlike anything I have ever encountered, particularly when I am sweltering in the heat. Fanning individuals as they pass by in the throng is another activity I enjoy performing and that everyone usually finds enjoyable! At festivals, it’s a terrific opportunity to start a discussion and meet new people.

5.) Totem

In essence, a totem is any item that aids in group location. They may either be seen as works of art or just as something made for the sake of being viewed. Signs, pool noodles, plush animals, flags, and much more may be included. In order to make it easier to locate your pals in a crowd, many individuals may also thread lights on their totem.

A simple broom was one of the most bizarre totems I have ever seen, yet it was effective! Larger groups benefit greatly from totems since they make it simple for anyone who gets lost to locate the group again! One of my favorite things about this community is how creative and enjoyable totems are as a component of rave culture! Making a humorous totem with your group may be a terrific way to join in the festival mood.

6.) Earplugs

Your eardrums are sitting there wondering, “What is going on?,” even if you’re dancing your heart out, the bass and the music are thumping, and everything in life is lovely. Will I blow up? Is this the end? This may sound a little dramatic, but safeguarding your ears is crucial and can help avoid more serious problems later on, such as hearing loss. Unique earplugs made by companies like Eargasm are intended to protect your ears without compromising sound quality. Earplugs that also function as earrings are available online if you’re searching for something more fashionable!

7.) A Surface for Sitting!

Some of the greatest festival memories are created when you sit down and take a break with your friends. at order to observe a performance at the rear of the audience or simply to rest my feet, I always carry a blanket or tapestry. Placing light sticks along the edge of the blanket or tapestry to create a tiny party area and keep people from stepping on you as they’re walking is something I enjoy doing while seated! If you ever become too cold, you may use that blanket or tapestry!

8.) A couch that can be inflated

Returning to the subject of seating, if the event permits it, an inflatable sofa would be your best bet! They’re quite cozy, portable, and rather straightforward to assemble. I can honestly say that sleeping on one of these amazing inflatable sofas during the Okeechobee Music Festival was one of my favorite sleep experiences. Although they occasionally sell these at festival vendors, you can also get inexpensive ones on Amazon!

9.) Carry-along charger

Everybody has that one individual whose phone is inexplicably dead all the time. You may be that person! If you want to record your favorite sets or keep in touch with your group, don’t forget to bring a portable charger. Believe me, you don’t want to be separated from your group at the end of the festival and be unable to get in touch with them. Allowing someone to charge their phone may even make them feel like a hero that evening! Typically, I will include a corded portable charger that works with both iPhone and Android chargers, which are readily available on Amazon!

10.) Toys and Kandi

Giving and trading presents is one of my favorite aspects of the EDM community. Doing this is a terrific way to meet new people and has helped me make a lot of friends at festivals and performances. A pleasant or humorous inscription is typically included with kandi, which is jewelry composed of vibrant beads and charms. My gang and I produce a lot of new kandi before every festival, with the intention of exchanging them all by the end of the weekend. Do your homework on how to trade kandi with peace, love, unity, and respect before your first festival! Giving presents is also a common habit at raves if trading isn’t your thing! Rubber ducks, little dinosaurs, stickers, lollipops, and a lot more are some of my favorite gifts to give.

11.) Essentials of Hygiene

The time has come. The time has arrived for you to fulfill your destiny as the ultimate rave parent. Even in their splendor, music festivals can be filthy, sweaty, and teeming with pathogens. I usually make sure to include a transparent case of hygiene needs, such as chapstick, hand sanitizer, tissues and wet wipes, band-aids, hair ties, Neosporin, deodorant, gum, and other health and beauty staples, while I’m packing my rave bag. Taking good care of your body can guarantee a pleasant festival experience and help you avoid getting sick afterward!
